Stylish Pieces To Help Keep You Organized 1

Why is it that with the New Year comes a revived desire to organize your home? I’m not sure why that is, but I definitely succumb to the cliche and always feel the urge to spruce up my space once January hits.

If you’re like me, having a bunch of little things lying around the house makes you crazy. Especially now with a little one, between his gear, the pup’s toys, and the random small things around the house, it takes an effort to keep our space clutter free. That’s why I try to keep decor items in my home that hide the chaos and keep us somewhat organized. I rounded up some of my favorite decor items that can multipurpose as organizational items.

1. Serena and Lily // La Jolla Baskets
4. West Elm // Lacquer Tray
6. Paper Source // Blush Marble Trinket Dish
Below are the my top go-to decor items that double as organization pieces for me. Here is how I incorporate them into my home:
Decorative Baskets // I have a handful of different sized decorative baskets all around the house. I make sure the style of baskets weave into my home’s aesthetic. Think – dip dye seagrass, macramé and neutral textured baskets. The baskets in our home are divided up by what we need in each room. For example, the three baskets in the living room hold Chewie’s toys, Greyson’s baby toys, other baby items (blankets and hats easy to grab for walks, Baby Bjorn carrier, etc). Our entryway basket holds misc. items like lint rollers and house slippers. Upstairs we have baskets for laundry room products, bathroom cleaning products, baby bath time items, and even oversized baskets for extra comforters and pillows that we keep in the guest room closet.
Trays // I love decorative trays (especially these) and have a ton floating around our home. Not only are they great organizers, but perfect to have on hand when visitors come over – they’re great for displaying cocktails, appetizers, coffee and dessert, etc. I use a large white West Elm tray on our coffee table, which holds coffee table books, candles, coasters and the TV remotes. I use an acrylic tray on my dresser, where I display a handful of trinket dishes to hold my jewelry. I use a tray in the kitchen to display kitchen items. The options are really endless on how you can use these trays. Trinket trays or dishes are great for multipurpose use too. I use trinket trays and dishes for my jewelry, the entryway to hold our keys and other knick knacks. They can also be used to hold matches for candles on your coffee table, for items in your kitchen, etc.
Decorative Boxes // Decorative boxes are great for hiding those not-so-great looking, but necessary, household items. Are those ugly TV remotes cramping your curated coffee table look? A decorative box is the perfect solution for those. I use a pretty box to house all my camera cords and chargers in our office area. A nice box can also hide all your computer or phone chargers that you may keep in your living room area.
